Children of Red Peak - by Craig DiLouie

Updated: Mar 15

Rating: B+

Well written glimpse into the formation and aftermath of a cult. Four survivors that were

children when introduced in a seemingly benign religious community meet back up at the funeral of a fifth survivor who had committed suicide. Flashbacks to their lives within the cult and the gradual horror of what eventually becomes a death cult that results in the suicide deaths of their parents. The survivors are all suffering from the trauma they underwent in the final days of the cult. Well written with characters that with all their flaws are sympathetic. Ending is ambiguous.
