  • Availability depending on staffing levels.
  • Located in the Quiet Room.
Library Cards
  • Card applicant** must be 18+. Any age is allowed to get a BHPL library card.

  • Applicant must have Photo ID and a piece of recently dated mail to confirm the address. 

  • For more details on how to get a card, please visit the Junior or Adult card info pages.

  • Please note that library cards cannot be issued 15 minutes prior to closing. (see library hours)

*Please note: The Library DOES NOT receive incoming FAX on behalf of the patrons.

Materials access
  • Patrons with a valid Benton Harbor Library card, St. Joseph Library or Lincoln Twp card, or MILibrary home library can checkout a wide variety of materials and items from both the Junior and Adult Departments. If you do not have a library card, you can still borrow select materials.  Ask a staff member to identify those collections.

Public Computers
  • 1 hour limit.

  • Adults, please be prepared to show ID.

  • Adults aged 18 and over are to use 1st Floor computers.

  • Children, students through high school, and parents with their children can use the computers in the Junior Department.
