2010 Teen Summer Reading Program
Official Rules
Teens must be 13 or older by September 1, 2010 to enter the Summer Reading Program for Teens.
Teens may count up to 10 hours of reading per week. A maximum of 5 of these hours may come from: Comics, grahic novels, & magazines.
Library Dollars may only be earned with materials checked out from the Benton Harbor Public Library.
Only Library Dollars from the current year may be used at the auction at the end of the program.
1 Library Dollar will be earned for attending Teen and All-Ages programs.
Bonus books will award teen patrons 2 Library Dollars upon check out. these bonus books will be kept secret until the time of check out. Once a bonus book has been found by one patron, it will be taken off the bonus book list and a new book will be put in its place.
Bonus books will be challenging books including: longer books, award winners, non-fiction, fiction, and graphic novels. These are in place to encourage teens to try something challenging over the summer.
Teens will earn prizes at 10, 20, 30 and 40 hours as well as earning Library Dollars as they read.
Library Dollars are for use at the end-of-the-summer auction.
Teens

Earn "points" by checking out books, or spending time with a child in the library, or attending a program (up to 2 points per week).
