BHPL Digitalization Complete!

BHPL staffers have recently concluded the most complex and difficult project BHPL has seen in forty years: Digitizing and modernizing BHPL's vast collection of books, audiobooks, DVD and VHS video, CDs, magazines, government documents, and historical manuscripts and maps.

The new circulation system began on 03/17/2008 at 11:00 AM.
Now:

• All existing paper library cards must be exchanged for new barcoded plastic cards.
• All checkouts must be completed using the electronic circulation system.
• All overdue fines and fees must be paid to recieve a new library card.
• All patrons should read and understand all newly posted rules and policies.

The first closing occurred on January 30th  –  February 1st.
The Junior Department's items were given barcodes during the first closing.
The second closing occurred on February 13th  –  February 15th.
The Adult Department's items were given barcodes during the second closing.
The third closing will occur on March 12th  &  March 13th.
The staff will make final preparations for implementing the new digital circulation system during the third closing.
